Fort Reasoning present: The Sailor, The Scientist, The Spaceman and The Woodcutter

Fort Reasoning are an emerging company of multi-disciplinary artists, working mainly in theatre, visual practices and choreography. Since their formation in 2006, Fort Reasoning have performed work both nationally and internationally at Battersea Arts Centre Graduate Festival, MIST Festival and Arena Festival.

The Sailor, the Spaceman, the Scientist and the Woodcutter is a new performance in development from Fort Reasoning that looks at success, failure and human endeavor through these archetypal figures. It is a performance that reflects upon the idea that single minded progress is dangerous, that it is as important to look backwards as it is forwards, to be mindful of taking care of the world, the consequences of our actions and the value of what we have. The company will be sharing a few extracts and starting points, focusing around the Sailor, for discussion and feedback.

http://www.fortreasoning.com/Site/Fort%20Reasoning.html

MouldEd Theatre Company present: Pieces of a Painter

MouldEd is a recently formed company and Pieces of a Painter will be our first full production. Each member has previously been involved in devised work, in the roles of director, actress and technician. The themes of our work range from current social and political issues to raising those expounded in literature from past eras. The style of each piece presented ranges from new writing, devised solo and group pieces, storytelling, stand-up comedy, physical theatre, street theatre and literary adaptations

Pieces of a Painter centres upon the Painter, who is personified on stage as a puppet. The painter is manipulated by his physicality, conscience and idiosyncrasies, in the form of MouldEd performers. Thus the piece has various roles, but in essence, just one multi-faceted character who in his efforts to discover the reason behind his controlling forces, inflicts his moods and eventually takes out his mounting anger upon the subjects of his paintings.

f.a.b. – The Detonators & The Institute for Crazy Dancing present: “Ustinov and Macadam”

After taking an intensive Clowning Masterclass with Angela de Castro in January 2009, Tiago Gambogi decided to collaborate with actor/dancer/clown Jason Hird to make a new piece. Tiago and Jason will work for 1 week at the end of May to start the creation process and in Practice f.a.b. & ICD will show the scenes and sketches that have been developed in that week.
