NCA launches Arts Election Manifesto consultation tour

Over the coming months, the National Campaign for the Arts is planning to hold a seminar tour across the nation commencing in London on 5th December and ending in April 2009.

The aim of the tour is to develop an Arts Manifesto for the next General Election. In order to develop this vital advocacy tool NCA are seeking input from a wide range of artists and arts organisations. The seminars will look back at previous election and arts manifestos, reflect on what progress has been made, and consider where further steps need to be taken to achieve crucial goals for the arts world. The NCA will then draw together the input from across the country and collate it into the Manifesto for the Arts, which they intend to present at a national conference in late April next year.

NCA want to hear from as many people as possible. The full calendar of consultation events will be published in the next few weeks. In the mean time they would like to take this opportunity to invite you to our first consultation event, which is kindly being hosted by English National Ballet, to be held on Friday 5th December at Markova House, 39 Jay Mews, London, SW7 2ES. The event will run from 10.00 am until 12.30 pm and anyone is welcome to attend.

The seminar is free to attend; however, as there are only 40 places available, attendance will be by registration only. To register for this event, visit http://artsmanifestolondon.eventbrite.com

Don’t worry if you can’t attend this session, NCA are holding sessions across the whole of the UK over the coming months.
